My background

I obtained my medical degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2024. During my clinical traineeships, I developed a strong interest in neurology, which led me to work as a resident not in training (ANIOS) in the Department of Neurology at Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Dordrecht.

Since August 2025, I have been pursuing a PhD at the Department of Neurology at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam.

My projects

My PhD research focuses on clinical studies aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).

My main project investigates the use of wearable devices to monitor physical activity in CIDP patients, aiming to determine whether these devices can provide a reliable indication of clinical improvement or decline.

I am also involved in the Rituximab Trial, which examines whether initiating rituximab treatment can reduce relapse rates and improve outcomes in selected patients.

Additionally, I contribute to the CIDP Mimics Study, which collects clinical data from patients with CIDP and related conditions (“CIDP mimics”) to identify novel biomarkers and disease-specific features that may enhance diagnostic accuracy.
