Expertise
The NeuroMuscular Diseases Erasmus MC research group (NMD-RG) has extensive experience in recognizing and treating patients with neuromuscular diseases. For example:
• GBS
• CIDP
• Pompe disease
• C(I)AP
These conditions require a very specific and expert approach. That is why various specialists join together in our centre. This includes neurologists, paediatric neurologists, paediatricians, intensivists, rehabilitation physicians, geneticists and doctors affiliated with the home ventilation centre.
Treatment
If you are treated at the NMD-RG, you can count on the expertise of the entire team. Every year we see many patients with neuromuscular diseases. As a result, we have built up a lot of knowledge and experience.
Our goal is to treat and guide our patients as best as possible. The quality of life of patients is decisive. Our mission is to continue to improve our care for patients.
That is why we do a lot of research together with our patients and other specialists worldwide. This allows us to learn more about how these diseases arise and how they can best be treated.

To draw more attention to these rare conditions, special websites were created for each of these conditions in 2020. This was one in collaboration with Spierziekten Centrum Nederland.
