New per July 2024
Our neuroimmunology research group is looking for an enthusiastic physician-researcher!
Job description
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is a rare, disabling but treatable immune-mediated peripheral nerve disorder that causes muscle weakness and sensory disturbances.
We conduct research into new treatment options (and pharmacokinetics) of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) and subcutaneous immunoglobulins, but also into the effect of other immune-modulating treatments.
In addition, we actively participate in cohort studies. In this patient-related research, you will help as a PhD candidate to set up and conduct clinical studies into better treatment of CIDP, from including patients to analyzing data. In addition to scientific research, you will also see neuromuscular patients at the neurology outpatient clinic.
Work environment
You will become part of a close and nationally and internationally renowned neuromuscular research team consisting of neurologists, immunologists, PhD students and postdocs.
Within our research group, there is intensive collaboration with the departments of immunology, clinical neurophysiology, paediatric neurology, epidemiology, social health care and statistics.
There is a good educational program in which the NIHES courses form an important part of your training as a scientific researcher. The PhD organization of the Erasmus MC (Promeras) also offers a course in scientific writing in English.
Every two weeks there is a neuro-immunology research lunch and there are regular social activities. We also go to national and international conferences with the research group so that you can present the results of your research, get to know people and gain new ideas. Together we want to improve the future for people with inflammatory polyneuropathy. Will you help?
