Collaboration
To enable scientific research, we work together with various non-profit organizations, commercial parties, and professional associations.
Non-profit organizations
Our research team has received funding from various non-profit organizations for specific research projects including:
For research in GBS and CIDP:
- Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds
- GBS|CIDP Foundation International
- European Commission
- National Institutes of Health
- Stichting GBS
The websites of these organizations provide overviews of the funded projects with more detailed information.
Commercial parties
Various pharmaceutical companies are also financially supporting our research projects, via awards, dedicated research project calls and as contract research.
For research in GBS and CIDP:
Some members of our research team participate in advisory boards or in trial committees or present lectures supported by industry as indicated in the Transparency Register.
Our policy is that all financial support from industry is fully used for our research only. In publications and presentations, we indicate any conflicts of interest.
Professional associations
For the organization of care for people with neuromuscular diseases (NMD) in the Netherlands, we participate in various national networks. For this, financial compensation is sometimes paid to employees of our NMD group.
This can include participating in committees, teaching, and organizing events. Within these associations, we also carry out board tasks. Professional associations we work with are:
- Dutch Society for Neurology | Nederlandse Vereniging voor Neurologie
- Dutch Society for Pediatric Neurology | Nederlandse Vereniging voor Kinderneurologie
- Dutch Society for Immunology | Nederlandse Vereniging voor Immunologie
- Dutch Society for Clinical Neurophysiology | Nederlandse Vereniging voor Klinische Neurofysiologie
- Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS)
- Dutch Centre for Muscle Disorders | Spierziekten Centrum Nederland
